2008 Session

Computer Application Training

Description

Water and Wastewater Utility personnel are faced with daily demands of meeting regulatory requirements, deadlines, efficient operations, customer satisfaction and effective communications with Board of Directors, State and Federal Agencies.

These daily demands are continuing to increase as more and more financial, technical and managerial responsibilities are recognized. To reduce the time restraints of utility employees in successfully completing their work in these areas, the Alabama Rural Water Association in cooperation with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management are providing Computer Application Training.

A series of four sessions will be held in the locations shown for your convenience in attending.

classThe sessions will introduce and explain how to use Office 2007, its features, shortcuts & user tips. Concentrated instruction with Office 07 Excel will include developing an annual budget and budget analysis.

Additional instruction will target the unaccounted for water percentage reported on the MORs, troubleshooting the percentage to determine its accuracy and to identify the margin of error reported.

In addition, time will be devoted to viewing utility websites and how developing your own website can help improve the image of your utility, help disseminate information to your customers, accept payments online, etc.

There will also be an introduction to the soon to be released Alabama Rural Water Forum. The forum is designed to open up new communication channels between operators, office staff, board members, agency personnel, or virtually anyone with an interest in the water industry.

The class instruction will provide helpful hands-on training for all the activities listed above.
Plan to join us!! The Training Sessions are FREE OF CHARGE and are subject to approval by the ADEM for Operator Continuing Education Hour Credits.
