Water Treatment Plant Operator
Grade IV Needed

Chattahoochee Valley Water Supply District (CVWSD) operated by Veolia Water NA is accepting applications for a full time Water Treatment Plant Operator Grade IV. Minimum qualifications are; Grade IV water certification as required by ADEM; an education level equivalent to high school graduation; knowledge functions, Operates and maintains water treatment processing, testing equipment in water treatment facility to purify water to meet permit and operational requirements, Monitor distribution tank levels, assist in maintenance activities, and performing other related duties as required.

The starting pay rate for this position is $15.50 - $18.50/hour, depending on qualifications. Veolia Water has Blue Cross & Blue Shield benefits and 401k retirement.

General Manager Needed

General Manager, Parrish Waterworks and Sewer Board (Parrish, AL) is now seeking a qualified General Manager to direct all aspects of the utility’s day-to-day operations. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall administration of the utility. The work involves, but is not limited to, budget preparation and administration, personnel training, evaluation and supervision, customer service, construction plan review, and public relations. This position reports to the Parrish Waterworks and Sewer Board. The Board is an autonomous body whose members are appointed by the Parrish Town Council. The Board is responsible for oversight and management of all phases of the water distribution system, sewer collection system, and the waste water treatment facilities. Parrish is located approximately 30 miles north west of Birmingham. Parrish is also located close to numerous scenic recreation areas.

Minimum Qualifications:  A degree in public or business administration, science, engineering, or related field is preferred plus two years progressively responsible supervisory work in utility management. Possession of or ability to readily obtain an appropriate Alabama state-certified license for water and waste water is required. Salary is very competitive and dependent on qualifications.

Water Plant Operator
The City of Auburn

The City of Auburn, Alabama, a rapidly growing, progressive university community, is seeking a Water Plant Operator. This position is responsible for operating the water treatment plant. Major duties of this position include collecting and processing water samples through laboratory analysis; participating in plant operations and maintenance activities by monitoring daily plant chemical use and making adjustments and flow rate changes as needed; monitoring water pressure and tank levels; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school diploma or GED are required, as is the possession of a valid driver’s license and the possession of or ability to readily obtain an Alabama Grade IV license for water treatment.

The starting pay rate for this position is $15.22-$18.18/hour, depending on qualifications. The City of Auburn has an excellent benefits package.

Part Time Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator

Wastewater Operator III

A wastewater operator III performs tasks such as lab testing, process control procedures, and general maintenance of electrical motors, pumps, UV systems, grease processing systems and other equipment used in the operation of a wastewater treatment plant and lift stations. The position represents a skilled craftsman who can perform the duties listed, along with any other duties as directed by the proper authority.
  
Job Qualifications:
- Valid Alabama Driver’s License, insurable under City of Troy’s insurance requirements.
- High school diploma or GED.
- An Alabama Grade III Wastewater Certification with at least one year’s experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant and lift stations would be required.
- Knowledge of electric motors and pumps would also be desired.
- Willing to work nonstandard hours and more than 40 hours per week if needed.
- Successful applicant is required to take and pass physical exam and drug test.
