Grade II Water/Wastewater Operator The Town of Newton is accepting applications for a full time Grade II Water/Wastewater Operator. We have 2 Ground Water Wells that are Chlorinated Gas treated and 2 tanks with a customer base of 740. We have 2 package small activated Sludge Plants with Drip Disposal fields. Grade IV Water Operator A full time position is open in a brand new state of the art micro filtration plant in a growing community. We offer good benefits and competitive pay. Work schedule is 12 hr. per day, 7 on / 7 off. Applicants must have an Alabama grade IV certificate; have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to climb and do maintenance on treatment plant equipment. Computer operation as well as experience with SCADA are required and must not be color blind. Grade III Wastewater Operator The City of LaFayette is accepting applications or resumes for a full time position of Grade III Wastewater operator. High school diploma / GED are required with additional coursework in chemistry, math, hydraulics and computers preferred. Applicant must hold an Alabama Grade III Operator’s Certificate in Wastewater. Applicant must have valid driver's license. Successful applicant is expected to maintain plant
records, collect samples, Lab operation, tests and monitors conditions
throughout the plant in accordance with EPA and ADEM standards; conduct
plant maintenance and inspection tours of wastewater plant and report any
malfunctions. Lifting, shoveling and climbing ladders/stairs required.
Applicant should be willing to work on weekends, and holidays when assigned.
Successful candidates will be required to pass interview, physical exam,

Applicants must posses a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, Alabama Grade III Wastewater operator certificate with two years plant operator's experience. Pump repair and laboratory experience preferred. Must be willing to work on weekends and holidays when assigned. Will also consider applicants possessing a Grade II certificate. Water Plant Operator, Grade IV Full time positions in Water Supply/Treatment
Plant. Primary duties include monitoring the telemetry and SCADA systems
to detect and report system malfunctions. Monitors laboratory analysis
in order to determine proper treatment of raw and finished water.
Operates and regulates chemical feeders and other equipment. Keeps
records of laboratory analysis, chemicals used and gallons of water
treated. Conducts regular inspection tours of the plant and report any
malfunctions to the proper maintenance employee. Answers routine
questions of customers pertaining to water and explains plant processes.
High school diploma is required with additional coursework in chemistry,
math, hydraulics and computers is highly preferred. Must hold an Alabama
Grade IV Plant Operator’s Certificate. Must be able to operator the
chemical feeders, pumps, laboratory equipment, electrical controls and
motor starters. Cannot be color blind. Some lifting and climbing ladders
required. Must be available for varying shift assignments. EOE. Salary:
